October Student Leader of the Month

On behalf of the Washburn Student Bar Association, it is time to congratulate the October recipient of the Student Leader Award: Teresa Hurla. Each month, the WSBA Executive Council selects one student who has done an exemplary job of going above and beyond the normal demands of law student life to make an impact on our school. This student is recognized as our Student Leader of the Month.

Ms. Hurla has not only consistently shined academically but has demonstrated great leadership in her involvement with several programs during her tenure at Washburn Law. Ms. Hurla served two successful seasons on the Texas Young Lawyers National Trial Competition Team. Ms. Hurla has also lent her advocacy skills to the Washburn Voir Dire Competition team where she, and her team, took 5th place in the nation at the national competition in Spring of 2018. Capping off her advocacy career at Washburn Law, Ms. Hurla received the Max Rowinsky Award for Outstanding Student in Trial Advocacy Class, 2018 and is a member of the Order of Barristers. She did all this while also serving as a study group leader for two semesters. Ms. Hurla is truly an exceptional student and leader here at Washburn Law and is therefore worthy of this great honor.
